boxbox started as an idea from a US construction manager who had spent years watching projects lose days to outdated drawings and buried email threads. He had the domain knowledge and he had raised the money, but no engineering team to build it. We became that team. Working from his understanding of how jobs actually run, we built the construction management tools crews depend on and joined them to an AI copilot named Maverick that answers questions directly from a project's own documents.

Our client knew the problem intimately from the site side and had the investment to solve it, but needed a product team to turn it into software. We scoped the platform with him, then built RFIs, submittals, daily logs, documents, and the project directory as one system, with an AI copilot layered over all of it.
Answers had to be grounded, not guessed — a wrong fire rating or a missed revision costs real money on site. The platform also had to serve general contractors, architects, owners, and subcontractors from one project record, each with different permissions over the same documents.
We built a React application with a retrieval layer over every project artifact, and split Maverick into specialised agents for RFIs, submittals, daily logs, and the directory. Each agent drafts real records the user reviews before anything is applied, so the AI proposes and the project manager still decides.
A shipping product where teams search drawings, RFIs, specs, contracts, and emails at once, compare drawing revisions instantly, and get meetings and emails summarised into action items. Unlimited collaborators per project means the whole team, including subcontractors, works from the same record.
